1. Q: Fifth wheel towing devices have been around for years, what is so different about Tru-Hitch?
A: The Tru-Hitch not only works like an underlift for damage free towing, but also functions as a true weight distributing device to properly load the towing vehicle.
2. Q: What do you mean by "properly loads the towing vehicle?"
A: The Tru-Hitch uses a rigid connection to the towel vehicle to place the load onto the fifth wheel rather than behind the rear wheels like the more conventional tow trucks.
3. Q: What does this loading the fifth wheel accomplish?
A: By loading the fifth wheel you actually distribute the tow load evenly on the towing vehicle.  This means you gain weight on the steering axle as well as the drive axles.
4. Q: What advantage does a heavier front axle give the operator?
A: With the Tru-Hitch's ideal weight distribution, a Towman need not have a clumsy 35' long unit to carry reasonable loads.  He can run a short tractor and have excellent maneuverability and still "scale" most loads.
5. Q: What effect does this weight distribution have on safety?
A: With the additional weight on the front axle, steering and braking are not hurt.  The front axle doesn't lock up under heavy breaking nor do you loose the ability to turn and maneuver as you would with the present underlift equipment.
6. Q: How does the Tru-Hitch allow the Tower to be legal at highway scales?
A:  Since the Tru-Hitch load is on the fifth wheel, all axles are loaded more or less equally, unlike the conventional tow trucks that unload the steer axle and overload the drive axles.
7. Q:  Isn't the Tru-Hitch difficult to hook up?
A:
Not at all! The towed vehicle rests on the hitch booms and a chain is passed over the truck frame.  When the cylinders are extended, the towed vehicle is lifted and converted to a trailer.
8. Q:  I don't quite understand?
A:  It helps to think of the Tru-Hitch rig as a drop deck trailer.  The hitch is the removable powered "goose neck" and the towed vehicle is converted to a trailer.
9. Q:  With a short tractor trailer rig combination you must have a very maneuverable combination.
A:
Absolutely! The fifth wheel pivot allows a Towman to actually "jack-knife" when turning and backing.  Ninety degree turns are a snap with a short tractor and a Tru-Hitch.
10. Q:  Who makes the Tru-Hitch and what does one cost?
A:
The Tru-Hitch is made in Connecticut in our own plant because we want control over quality.  A Tru-Hitch with a 25,000# lift and 80,000# tow rating costs about the same as a comparable add-on device.  Since the Tru-Hitch requires no complicated installation or "Frame Stretching", it is a less expensive alternative for a Towman who needs damage free underlift equipment.
11. Q:  How would you sum up the Tru-Hitch benefits for us?
A:
  (1) The Tru-Hitch, with it's unique Rigid Hookup, allows a Towman to carry heavy loads safely and enjoy maneuverability and the economy of a conventional tractor.
(2) He can keep his large recovery equipment available for accident work.
(3) He is able to transport over the road safely and without the hassles at the scales.  A Tru-Hitch should be a profitable addition to any Towman's fleet.
